CRESST

The CRESST (Cryogenic Rare Event Search with Superconducting Thermometers) experiment is a multinational joint effort aiming at the direct detection of Dark Matter. For this purpose special detectors, utilizing the low heat capacity of materials at low temperatures and the extremely high-temperature sensitivity of superconductors at their transition, have been developed.
